Well.. this entry, after a long time got to be on sports as well. Glad to decorate my Blog with an article on this Legend, Roger Federer, "The Master of Tennis" .
Honestly saying, i was just wondering even if Roger will even make it to the Finals of French open, in spite of him beating Nadal in Madrid masters a week ago. When Nadal lost in the fourth round, I thought maybe, ya “maybe” this is Federer’s turn. But the next day I couldn’t see Roger struggling so much against Tommy Haaaaas. Good to see his “Never say die attitude” and figthin back from 2 sets and 3-4 down. Finally was very happy to see him lift the trophy in elusive Roland Garos title and filling his last hole on his Resume. Happy to see him falling on his knees to the clay that had vexed him for so long, screaming and briefly burying his face in his hands. He was teary by the time he met Soderling at the net, and fans gave Federer a standing ovation as he raised his arms in triumph.
The stylish Swiss showed his versatility by getting his hands on the Musketeers' Cup at the French Open to complete his collection of grand slam titles. Job done, Federer started to rake in the records and the accolades.
“It was destiny I guess in many respects,” Agassi said of Federer. Yes indeed it was!!
Federer's versatility was spitomised by Jimmy Connors' statement : "In an era of specialists - you're either a clay court specialist, a grass court specialist or a hard court specialist.. or you're Roger Federer" .. :)
Need to make a special mention about my manager, who is such an ardent lover of Roger. Guess what I got to see, the next day of Roger's acquisition of French open?? Big, Glittering words on her desk's whiteboard which read: "As it was, the end was what most neutrals had been hoping for, Federer fell to his knees, the crowd rose to their feet and the thunder rumbled overhead…"
Doubters will always find a reason not to proclaim Federer the greatest player to grace a tennis court, but one thing is for sure: time and again Federer has showed that he has techniques and the weapons at his disposal, some of the shots he can play defy the imagination.
Federer is not just one of the game's greatest, but a role model to generatios. A man unafraid to show emotion. A man who has shown us that grace and niceness aren't out of place in today's world!!
Hope he bags up more and more titles. Still long way to go for him.
LONG LIVE THE KING!!
